. Train your brain: This is the first pillar of our program based on polling, research, and experience. The mental aspect of sports is one of the things that can help you rise above your competition in many different ways. When an athlete becomes one with their body and mind, performances can improve at a lightning pace. Imagine if you were to visualize perfect starts every night, until sleep: The ability to clear your mind, reach a level of consciousness that allows to hear the bikes, full the intensity, see the gate and bike around you, rip a star and enjoy the success. That’s like getting 100 perfect starts a day with no wear and tear on the bike or the body. You are developing the brain muscle to perform at a near perfect level. Consistent brain training will prepare you for the real thing. This type of training and visualization is one of the skills we will consistently work on in my program, positive self-talk is another. The more you tell yourself positive thoughts about an event, the better the outcome will be. Conversely, if you tell yourself that the gate sucks, track sucks, bikes not working, the more you have committed to failing. If you tell yourself that you are going to be first around that corner, the bike is dialed, the track is awesome today, the better chance you have to achieve that goal.
